2006-2010
Line-up: Yarred (Jared White) and Shayne White
Before Yarred embarked on his solo career, he was the co-founder of the electronic music band Binary Sea with his brother Shayne. Their musical background came from their long involvement in the Celtic music group Distant Oaks before it dissolved in 2006. At the heart of Binary Sea’s melodious, synthesizer-driven sound is an awareness of the power of musical storytelling through rich instrumental compositions.
Land Ho! (2010)
Binary Sea' second release is now here! This four-track EP features a greater emphasis on downtempo/groove and trance music, with more analog synthesizer sounds present than on Compass. A perfect blend of ambient/chill-out and dance music, this new EP is sure to become a classic in no time.
Compass (2008)
2008 heralded the release of Compass, Binary Sea's first official studio album. Each track on Compass is a finely-tuned, thematic, and pulsating journey into an expansive world of dance-friendly beats, introspective atmospherics, and evocative refrains. The album has a cohesive and unified flow, yet there is a element of variety and spicy playfulness as the music progresses that will leave its audience refreshed and inspired. Styles range from trance to jazz to ambient.
